The County of Simcoe is looking at providing some encouragement for those who are not using their green cart for compostables.
Council is considering a new policy where your trash cart won’t be emptied, unless your green cart is there as well.
A recent audit showed nearly half of the waste tossed into the garbage should be in the organics cart.
And a good many households don’t bother using the organics program at all.
County council will officially vote on the proposal in a couple of weeks.
