Walk for Alzheimer’s organizers say this year’s walk will be a fun one.
It’s about collecting donations, but it’s also about having fun – on hand that day in Bracebridge’s Memorial Park will be the Town Crier, local political dignitaries, and lots more.
The in-person walk happens on May 27th at 12 pm.
Ahead of it you can donate online at alzheimersmuskoka.ca, and sign up to be a walker or to sponsor a team. You can also donate on the day of the event at the park and get a receipt for taxes if the donation is above $20. Or, call or drop in at the local Alzheimer’s Muskoka office in Bracebridge at 440 Ecclestone Drive ahead of the walk where they accept payments via credit card.
Pam Leeder, Interim Executive Director of Alzheimer’s Society of Muskoka reminds that the organization supports all of Muskoka and beyond….
The walk’s fundraising goal this year is $75,000.
Leeder says they are looking forward to the day at the park as there will also be live music and a BBQ donated by the Lions Club of Bracebridge.
“We want to make it more than just a fundraiser,” says Leeder. “We appreciate the support of our community and those who have registered to walk. We want to have fun and we want the clients that we serve to come out and enjoy the day as well.”
