Ramara Fire-Rescue has put a new boat into service.
The vessel is a 24 foot Stanley landing craft with a drop-down front.
The township says the design allows easier access to people who might be in peril on the water.
It also means fire fighting equipment and personnel can be dropped off quickly in situations where there is water access.
The boat is docked near the Atherly Narrows and will respond to calls along Ramara’s 250 kilometres of shoreline, and eight islands.
