Due to quickly accelerating dry conditions and multiple fire starts, the Muskoka Fire Chiefs have issued a total Fire Ban for Muskoka effective 12:01 am on Thursday, May 12th.
The Fire Danger Rating for Muskoka is now set at Extreme.
No fires of any kind are permitted.
No fires are permitted for cooking or warmth and no fireworks are allowed.
This is the Forest Fire Danger Rating for Restricted Fire Zone RFZ 27 (District of Muskoka).
The Muskoka Fire Season runs from April 1 to October 31 each year.
