Today is the first day of winter!
The winter solstice happens at 10:59 this morning.
This is when we experience our shortest day and longest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, at least in terms of daylight.
Now the days will begin to grow longer and will continue to do so until we reach the summer solstice again in June.
