The Huntsville Fire Department is investigating a blaze that destroyed a cottage on Camp Newport Road today.

Damage is extensive and pegged at $300,000.

The department responded around 11 am and found heavy smoke and flames shooting through the roof.

No injuries were reported. The fire is not deemed suspicious.

The investigation into the cause continues.
