No injuries to report following a fire at a High Street residence in Mactier.

The blaze broke out in the attic area early this morning (Thursday).

The lone occupant was already outside when fire crews arrived thanks to a working smoke alarm.

Two dogs were also reportedly rescued from the two storey home.

No word yet on the damage estimate or cause.
