A cottage on Peninsula Road in Muskoka Lakes Township has been destroyed by fire.

At 1:30pm today the Muskoka Lakes Fire Department got the call and arrived to find a full involved structure fire at 1794 Peninsula Rd. 

Station 5 – Minett and Station 6 – Port Carling responded with firefighters and apparatus to the scene.

The cottage was completely destroyed.

Fire crews quickly stopped the spread of flames to the boat house and tree line.

The cottage was not occupied at the time.

The investigation continues into the cause. 

An estimation of loss is $375,000.
