OPP Issue Reminder About Cannabis Laws

Cannabis users have to be 19 years or older to buy, use, possess and grow recreational cannabis.

OPP is issuing a reminder about the laws surrounding the legalization of cannabis.

Cannabis users have to be 19 years or older to buy, use, possess and grow recreational cannabis.

The list of places where you can smoke it include, private residences, as long as it's not a workplace or a retirement home, many outdoor public places like sidewalks and parks and designated smoking guest rooms in hotels, motels and inns

Residential vehicles and boats that have permanent sleeping accommodations and cooking facilities and are parked or anchored.

You cant smoke it in common areas in condos or apartments buildings and university or college residences, enclosed public places or workplaces and hospitals amongst other areas.

You are allowed to have a maximum of 30 grams of dried cannabis in public, 15 grams of edible product and 70 grams of liquid product
