The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board is prepared to close its schools if there is a one day strike next week.

The board says if the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation stages a one day strike on Wednesday, then the board will close all elementary and secondary schools that day.

The board says the closure would also include the cancellation of busses and before and after school care.

The Simcoe County District School Board says if a deal isn't reached and there is a strike on Wednesday, all of its high schools and adult learning centres will close.

All grade 7 and 8 students at Elmvale District High School and Stayner Collegiate are expected to report to school.
